About This Item
Seller photos will be added the evening of 04/02/22.
From a back cover quote: "The lucidity of the battle narratives, the vigor of the prose, the strong feeling for the men from generals to privates who did the fighting, are all controlled by constant sense of how it happened and what it was all about. Foote has the novelist's feeling for character and situation, without losing the historian's scrupulous regard for recorded fact."
This is a 3-volume set. NO SLIPCASE.
Vol. 1 Fort Sumter to Perryville, 840 pages
Vol. 2 Fredericksburg to Meridian, 988 pages
Vol. 3 Red River to Appomattox, 1,106 pages
Very slight soiling or wear to outside edges and corners. I noted that 3 pages at the back of Vol. 1 have a tiny stain at the bottom corner, and that Vol. 2 has 3 pages with a tiny corner bend. Tight binding. Spines are uncreased and flat. Clean text/pages.
NOTE: I am selling these for a widow who has one house cat. However, I don't believe these books were near the cat. I have cleaned the books, but if you are allergic to cats you might want to pass on these books.
ALSO NOTE: These are thick, heavy books, but I have included the additional shipping cost in the price for the set.
