Paperback format, about 13½-inches wide x 11-inches high, 16 pages, with illustrations throughout. Map of important battles on inside back cover. Condition: Paper covers detached and laid in (chipped and pieces missing from extremities, some old soiling, and faint age toning). Internally: Some chips, tears, old damp spots and soiling, but the text is clear, very readable, and the illustrations are clean and clear. Overall Good. Not a facsimile, this is the 1894 edition. Very old and fragile, and certainly collectible. This antiquarian publication describes Lee's invasion of Maryland and the battle of Antietam, continued. Also, articles include Corinth to Murfreesboro (Stone's River). Details cover the Union side and the Confederate side, a southern women's recollections of Antietam, in the ranks with Hawkins's Zouaves at South Mountain and Antietam, notes by General Joseph Hooker on his battle at the corn-field, the Battle of Iuka, Bragg's advance and retreat, the battle of Stone's River, and the Union left at Stone's River.
