New York: Frederick Fell, Inc., 1951. Ex-Library. Fair. Hardcover. 1st. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Ex-library hardcover with card pocket inside back cover. Brown cover has rubs, scratches, fading, and bumps. Spine has library number in white ink and light sticker residue; cover fabric is missing at top 1/2" of spine. Pages have minor edgewear and some age-related discoloration, but are clean and tight. No dust jacket. "First printing February 1951" Library acquisition date written in pencil on edge of table of contents page - 10/8/51..

- Indicates that the affected part of the book has been impacted in such a way so as to cause a flattening, indention, or light...
- Fair
- is a worn book that has complete text pages (including those with maps or plates) but may lack endpapers, half-title, etc....
- Jacket
- Sometimes used as another term for dust jacket, a protective and often decorative wrapper, usually made of paper which wraps...
- Spine
- The outer portion of a book which covers the actual binding. The spine usually faces outward when a book is placed on a shelf....
- Tight
- Used to mean that the binding of a book has not been overly loosened by frequent use.
