About This Item

First Edition/First Printing with the "A" and the 7.57 code to the copyright page; A Very Good book in a Very Good dust jacket. An outstanding copy of this early novel by one of our SciFi masters; this title uncommon in the first printing and in this condition. This copy is in very good or better condition with a square, tight binding, sharp red lettering over clean beige boards, and clean, white pages throughout; the book does show some mild rubbing to the spine head, a PO bookplate to the front pastedown, a moderate over opening to the half title page, and a couple of stamps from previous library collections (not an ex-library, but evidently a part of a couple of collections). Housed in a crisp and bright very good or better dust jacket that shows some moderate rubbing and chipping to the spine ends and corners, mild creasing to the folds and edges with a couple of tiny holes along the spine edges, and some slight darkening to the spine. Overall, a handsome and collectible copy of a scarce book; Not remaindered, not price clipped ($2.95 intact); in a fresh Mylar sleeve and will ship carefully wrapped in a sturdy box.

Synopsis

Citizen of the Galaxy is a science fiction novel by Robert A. Heinlein, originally serialized in Astounding Science Fiction (September, October, November, December 1957) and published in hardcover in 1957 as one of the Heinlein juveniles by Scribner's. Influenced by Rudyard Kipling's Kim, the novel, like many of Heinlein's, may also have been influenced by the author's background in and nostalgia for the U.S. Navy.
