This book purports to exonerate Churchill from many popular mistakes charged against him, such as the sinking of the French fleet at Meres-el-Kebir and the attack on Pearl Harbor. Bibliographer Curt Zoller writes that this book "was criticized for inadequate research in some areas, such as Churchill's relations with Tito, and a degree of wandering between broad concepts and specific actions. Nevertheless, this is an interesting and readable account that casts Churchill's actions in a different light from the usual." The book is illustrated with photos and maps. The condition is good in a good dust jacket. The grey cloth binding is tight and has bright gilt on the spine, but does have a slight forward lean. There is some staining on the bottom of the front and rear covers. The corners are dulled and there is some wear on the top and bottom edges, along with a vertical crease through the spine. The contents are clean and free of spotting, browning, or markings. The unclipped dust jacket featuring a photograph of Churchill is without fading and has some minor tears along the extremities and some very small losses.
