Small mark under authors name to spine and front. Lightly rubbed to top and bottom of spine and to corners. Interesting book plate of previous owner to front past down otherwise no ownership marks. Some foxing to end papers otherwise very largely clean internally with occasional blemish to the text. A study of the churches of the Deanery of Craven in North Yorkshire illustrated with black and white photographs and some sketches.

Black covers with blind-printed simple decoration on front and rear, and gilt lettering on front and spine are lightly rubbed on spine joints, spine-ends and corners. Light wear to edges. Sound binding with slight separation at some gatherings. Illustration opp. p. 144 (Kirkby Malham Church, 1879) has been previously loose and reattached with white adhesive tape. Lower corner of pp. 143-150 lightly stained, pages otherwise clean. Light foxing to prelims and end-papers. Bookplate (Ex libris W R Mitchell) on inside front cover.
