Publisher's full green cloth, gilt lettering, color plate on cover, top edge brown, fore-edge deckle. Color frontispiece and cover illustration by George Gibbs. This is the second printing (July, 1912) after the first edition one month earlier (June, 1912). . Spine mildly sunned with one small stain, corners lightly bumped, covers slightly soiled and color plate on cover mildly rubbed, else fine; unmarked, tight, square, and clean. A very nice copy. VERY GOOD.. Color Portraits. 8vo 8" - 9" tall. (x), 306 pp .
Synopsis
Chronicles of Avonlea is a collection of short stories by L. M. Montgomery, related to the Anne of Green Gables series. It features a number of stories relating to the fictional Canadian village of Avonlea, and was first published in 1912. The book is dedicated: "To the memory of MRS WILLIAM A. HOUSTON, a dear friend who has gone beyond."
