First English edition, 2 vols., 8vo, pp. xv, [1], 407, [1]; viii, 421, [1], [2] ads; original quarter cloth over drab paper-covered boards, printed paper labels on spines; some foxing to the early leaves of both volumes, else a very good, sound, and largely unopened copy. The text of this first English edition varies from that of the first American edition which precedes this by about a month. BAL 10126.
