Charles Scribner's and Sons, New York, 1935. First Edition. Hardcover (illustrated Cloth). Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. Illustrator: Hildegard Woodward. Acknowledgements and about the stories in this book. Colour illustrated end pages, frontispiece, with slightly aged tissue guard, and all of the drawings and illustrations within the text had been created by Hildegard Woodward. Cream coloured cloth covered boards with small blue coloured illustration embossed to the lower right-hand corner of the front panel with red coloured embossed titles to the top edge; and blue coloured titles to the back strip. Blue coloured tint to the top text edge. A series of Christmas stories arranged to celebrate the first Christmas, recount amazing tales of wonder, telling Christmas tales from other lands and early American festivities. Softening and rubbing to the back strip edges with bumping to the book corners with some rubbing. Sunning of the back strip along with some white marks. The cloth of the board is slightly rubbed, darkened and shows handling marks. Light tanning of the text block edges and pages. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [6], VII - VIII, [2], 3 - 232 pages,.
