Green cloth lettered in gilt and browned at the spine, and in brown at the upper board. Cloth rubbed, chafed, stained and scored. With some internal mostly marginal damp staining and soiling. Some pencilled and inked marginalia. Binding cracked and somewhat tender at one gathering. A good copy. Six lengthy essays including 'Chopin, the Greatest Genius of the Pianoforte', 'How Composers Work', 'Schumann, as Mirrored in the Letters', and 'German Opera in New York'..
