Good (edge-wear to boards; rubbing to corners. chip to lower spine. front hinge nearly split; held by one binding joint. speckled foxing to textblock edges; remnants to page edges.). leather boards w/ gilt lacing. gilt spine w/ 5 raised bands. marbled pastedowns and endpapers. top edge gilt. unpaginated w/ approx 100 tissue-guarded plates. Opening pages have smudges to edges. Tissue guards have light tanning. Pages have instances of light marks and smudges, with occasional instances of speckled foxing; overall, remain clean. Wonderful collection of engravings. Leather and gilt remains bright. A handsome copy. Cover pastedown has the ex-libris plate of the renowned book collector and president of The Evening Post, John Nolty.
