About This Item
Way & Williams, 1897. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Signed. Inscribed on the front endpaper ("To my dear friend Mrs Hobart, with abiding love"), SIGNED, and place dated ("Madison Wisconsin, 1898") by Mary Adams. Ms. Hobart (with a written inscription also on the front end paper) presented the book to the LIBRARY in 1924 which, in turn, stamped their provenance with an oval insignia, also on the front end paper. The volume is rubbed and lightly frayed at the spine ends, bumped and lightly discolored at the base of both front and rear panels; there are four areas of scuffing on the front pastedown (something removed?) and the front hinge is starting. With all this, the book is in very good condition, with bright lettering and tight binding.

About Trilby & Co. Books
Trilby & Co. Books is located in Northern California. The company was founded years ago by a Shetland Sheepdog named Trilby. Trilby's message to her family was brief and direct - the sale of books would increase disposable income and improve the quality of provisions in her food dish. My name is McTavish (picture above). I am the current CEO of this company, and I approve of her message. Oh, by the way, my speciality is literature, with an emphasis on first editions and signed books.
