About This Item
New York: Simon & Schuster, 1978. First Edition. Inscribed and signed by the author, Ross Thomas, to his friend and photographer, Michael Lindsay who took the dust jacket photograph portrait of Ross Thomas that appears on this book. Inscribed: “For Michael & Katie, Who appear fleetingly on p. 29 -- or is it p. 36?, Ross Thomas,” In later years Michael Lindsay would provide the dust jacket portrait photographs of Ross Thomas for such Thomas novels as The Eighth Dwarf, Missionary Stew, etc. With Michael Lindsay’s bookplate. Some foxing to top edge, else very good plus in a near fine dust jacket. Thomas was not known for lengthy inscriptions and this one is unusually warm and affectionate. Some foxing to the outside edges, mainly the top and bottom, else very good in a very good dust jacket.
