Edition limited to 215 copies, this being No. 141, signed by the illustrator, Muirhead Bone. Bound in paper vellum with gilt decoration and titles, bevelled edges, top edge gilt, other text block edges deckled. 272pp. Tissue guarded frontispiece and many further line drawing illustrations, some full page and vignettes, all by Muirhead Bone. Boards just a little rubbed at edges, slightly chipped on corners and a little faded. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Handsome copy of a superb production, the first in a series of highly successful collaborations between Gertrude Bone (nee Dodd) and her printmaker husband, Sir Muirhead Bone. The stories reflect and illuminate English country life during the Edwardian era. 4to
