New York: Harper & Brothers, 1939. Book. Very good- condition. Hardcover. Signed by Author(s). Early edition. Octavo (8vo). 769 pages. Yellow and brown hardcover binding is moderately darkened on the spine, with minimal shelfwear. No dustjacket. Signed by the author on a front endpaper with no further inscription. Previous owner's stamp on the dedication page. A few pages with minor thumbing creases, and a few tiny spots of staining to the closed page edges, but the text is quite clean and is unmarked. The endpapers are map-illustrated. An early, dated "K-O" meaning October of 1939, but also stated "Seventeenth Edition.".
