Ellery Friend. 12mo (7 1/4" x 5 1/8"), thin brown spine and light brown chain-marked paper over boards with brown lettering and girl with flower cartoon in disk on cover, Introduction by James J. Davis, illustrated by Ellery Friend with running designs and light brown pictorial endpieces of children, plus endpapers with repeating pattern of children in circlets, 96 pages with running floral-&-girl headings. Housed in the original laid-paper beige box which repeats cover art & a book mark from The Volland Company. RARE survival of the 1929 Depression in SUPERB overall condition! Beautiful printing, decorations, and production values. Charming poems for children. Only "defect" is slight rubbing to bottom of the handsome box.<br/><br/>Wilbur Dick Nesbit (1871-1927), also known by the pen name Josh Wink, was an American poet and humorist. He is most known for his poem, Your Flag and My Flag. These light-hearted poems by Nesbit express "that fondness, that tenderness and solicitude for little hearts and heads . . ." (J. Davis).
