About This Item
Lakeville, CT: Lakeville Journal, 1959. Lathrop, Dorothy. Large bifolio, printed on both sides. The recto shows Van Doren's poem set at the center of a red and tan checkered border, adorned with six of Lathrop's illustrations of wintry mice and squirrels. The verso, printed in red, displays five Christmas messages from local businesses and from the Lakeville Journal itself. Van Doren and Lathrop had both, in their later careers, settled in northern Connecticut, and their collaboration here represents the occasionally overlooked creativity of the area. Some faint toning to edges, trace chipping, folded in fourths, else near fine.
