First edition, very good maroon cloth hardcover (no jacket if issued) with gilt letter to spine shows mild shelf wear with bit of bowing to covers, hint of exposure toning along spine, bit of soil, a small stain or blemish at bottom edge of front cover, touch of pencil shadow at top corner of front endpaper, three small ink spots at bottom of front endpaper and some other very light trace wear. 418 pages with illustrations, foldout map at rear and index. Still a pleasing copy of this "..only story of the Cheyenne and Black Hills Stage and Express routes.." that makes up installment # VI in the American Trail Series.
