About This Item
S. Low, Son, and Marston, 1867-01-01. Hardcover. Good. 1867 Sampson Low Son and Marston. Signed presentation copy from translator, John W. Hamersley, bound by renowned London bookbinder Edmonds and Remnants in full vellum, with designs in red to spine and both covers, which have yapped edges. All page edges red, printed on fine paper. This book was presented by the translator to the American Bible Society, which placed a small accession number on the spine and stamped the title page. The presentation plate on the front pastedown has made some offsetting marks on the facing front free-endpaper. The vellum is characteristically yellowed and grubby-looking. Otherwise, the book is very good+ to near fine.~DD~
