About This Item

Clarendon Press, Oxford University. ** 1ST EDITION ** FINE HARDCOVER ** NEAR FINE DUSTJACKET (PRICE-CLIPPED) ** CLOTHBOUND HARDCOVER BOOK ** NOT A LIBRARY BOOK ** CLEAN AND STAIN-FREE ** TEXT UNMARKED ** Published at the Clarendon Press, Oxford University, 1981. The definitive study on the subject. With 549 total pages (35 pages of preliminary material - Preface, Glossary of Terms, Prologue - followed by 514 pages of text). NOTE: The photos you can access with this listing are of the actual book you will be sent; please examine them closely as they provide the best indication of condition. Handsome, very well-made book, bound in heavy-duty dark blue cloth-covered boards with embossed gilt lettering on the spine. The book itself is very near flawless, presents as new (previous owner's name on first blank page under the jacket flap, no other flaws). The cloth binding still appears as crisp and fresh as new. The book is exceptionally clean, bright, and stain-free, square and straight, quite firm and tight in its binding, no pages loose, torn, or missing. The hinges are sound and undamaged, the corners are sharp and unbumped. Internally, all pages are clean and stain-free, bright and white, no age toning and all text is crisp, sharp, and quite legible. We detected no writing, underlining, highlighting, or markings of any such kind in the text. The dustjacket is exceedingly clean, bright, and stain-free, PRICE-CLIPPED, but otherwise complete and intact, no tears, no chips, no pieces missing, no wrinkles or creases. Jacket shows only extremely brief, very occasional, and faint signs of any use. Buy with confidence, professional booksellers for 35 years, selling books online since 1995. B2. . Fine. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. 1981.
