About This Item
[Texas] [Railroad] Missouri Pacific Railway Company and Wabash St. Louis and Pacific Railway. Cheap Land Excursion to Arkansas and Texas. [Chicago?]: [Missouri Pacific] 1884. Mimeographed flyer on letterhead of the Railroads. 8.5 x 11 in. Dated January 12, 1884. Signed in text Jno. B. Frawley, Pass & Land Agent. Has glue marks on verso, else very good.
OCLC shows no holdings for this item. It is ephemeral and rare. The excursion leaves St. Louis at 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 6, 1884. "If you can secure a party of five or more representative men of your city to join our party by accompanying them yourself, advise me and I will arrange for your transportation. While South they can attend the Mardi Gras at New Orleans in February." An interesting look at the railroad promoting land sales by hosting excursions of prominent men from across the country.Reviews
