Contemporary calf, raised bands, modern red leather spine label. 14 pages of the Charter bound in first; 24 pages The Table (an Index to the Acts and Laws), Acts and Laws, of His Majesty's Province of the Massachusetts-Bay in New-England, [2], 396 pp, includes subsequent separately printed laws through 1761. Restoration to spine and boards in Japanese paper. Restoration to title page of Charter. Dampstaining, to upper half of charter pages. Foxing, toning to pages. Rear board has faded late 18th century handwritten genealogical list of Mary Cook, daughter of Francis Cook, one of the original Mayflower pilgrims, and her offspring with John Thomson. Evans 8400, for the Charter.
