About This Item

William Morrow. New York. 1999. Quarter-bound in black with brown paper boards and gilt lettering to spine. First Edition (stated), first printing with requisite number line ending in 1. Shows small pinpoint spot on front board and two small wrinkles to rear paste-down. Inscribed with sharpie on flyleaf. Fine unclipped ($23.00) jacked shows minimal shelf wear now protected with removable mylar cover. During my first few months as Governor of Texas I sent a memo to my staff: "When you come into my office, please take a look at the beautiful painting of a horseman determinedly charging up what appears to be a steep and rough trail. This is us. What adds complete life to the painting for me is the message of Charles Wesley that we serve One greater than ourselves." While Texas Governor (and future 43rd President of the U.S.) Bush writes about his childhood, family, school, sports and how to work successfully with Republicans and Democrats. 6.25x9.5 in. with Index, 253 pg.
