FIRST EDITION, FIRST Impression with the correct Printer's Key - 2 4 6 8 10 9 7 5 3 1. FINE black/grey boards with pale lemon titling to the spine. In the original publisher's Near Fine pictorial dustjacket, just a few light smudges/scratches from storage which are only seen if held up to the light - negligible . The dustjacket is not price-clipped. The dustjacket is now in a new protective clear - removable - bookfilm plastic cover. SIGNED by the AUTHOR to the TITLE page in black ink, with no dedication. The paper/page edges have the usual acid toning (VERY light uniform tanning) due to the paper quality over time, and are UNIFORMLY more 'cream' than white. Overall a NEAR FINE to FINE copy, with no other inscriptions or other marks, the main reason for downgrading the book from As New is the very light tanning to the paper. " When Venetia Aldridge QC defends young Gary Ashe, accused of the brutal murder of his aunt, this is just one more opportunity for her to triumph in a distinguished career as a criminal lawyer. Then Miss Aldridge is found dead at her desk, and Commander Adam Dalgliesh and his team is called in..." . See Images; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; Signed by Author .
