Egas Moniz, the author of the introduction to this book, was the Portuguese originator of the technique of cerebral angiography, performing the first procedure in 1926. The author & neurosurgeon P. Almeida Lima assisted Moniz for more than 20 years and here corroborates and amplifies on Moniz's essential work, and in some cases revises the procedure. Between them, Moniz and Lima had by then performed more than 2,000 angiographies.
