About This Item
Greenfield, Ma: Printed by John Deni, 1804. 32pp. Dbd. Contemporary gift inscription on titlepage. Very good. In a folding cloth case. Taylor's sermon was given to mark the centennial of the destruction of Deerfield by French and Indian forces in 1704. The town was sacked during the same period of New England Indian wars that resulted in the captivity of John Williams and his family. The text is an even mix of historical rendering describing the events of the famous attack and scriptural analog. JONES 702. SABIN 94496. SHAW & SHOEMAKER 7334
