London: The Bodley Head. Very Good+ in Good dust jacket. 1970. 1st Edition Thus (Bodley Head Illustrated). Hardcover. Comprised of the two collections, 'Celtic Fairy Tales' and ' More Celtic Fairy Tales', originally piublished in 1892 and 1894 respectively. Very Good PLUS, Clean green cloth boards with bright gilt titling to the spine. In the original publishers decorated dustjacket which has some edge-wear along the top edge, and a few chips/closed tears which are now neatly repaired to the inside of the dustjacket with clear archive tape. Some foxing (brown spots) to the reverse of the d/j and a small blank piece (1cm x 7cm) missing to the rear top edge. There is also some very minor marking to the back cover. The top page fore-edge is coloured yellow (as published) with light foxing (brown spots) . The dustjacket is NOT price-clipped and is now in a new protective clear - removable - bookfilm plastic cover and looks near VG, otherwise NO Inscriptions or other marks and internally EXCELLENT. (6) + 330 pp. Delightfully Illustrated in b/w by Victor Ambrus. Contents cover : - Publisher's Note; Preface by Joseph Jacobs: 46 tales from both books; Notes and References for 'Celtic Fairy Tales'; Notes and References for More Fairy Tales; Index of Stories. Overall, apart from the 'faults' to the dustjacket, this is an Excellent, Clean, Tight and Bright , 'Very Good' copy. " This is a complete edition of the forty-six stories in Jacob's two Celtic collections which were originally published in 1891 and 1894.
