London: Grant and Griffith, 1844. Book. Fair. Hardcover. First Edition. 120mm x 180mm. Heavy wear to cloth. Gilt to front is bright. Gilt to spine moderately faded. Split to rear hinge...apears to have been re-glued.Rear board detached but extant. Even browning to rough cut page edges. 1860s prize label to front pastedown. Moderate foxing to preliminaries and last few pages. Also some foxing to other page margins. A pale watermark to bottom of gutter at pastedown and last couple of pages...but not onerous. Binding sound. 316pp plus catalogue pages..
