About This Item

London: Eyre And Spottiswoode, 1932. Bound in the publishers oatmeal coloured cloth with black lettering on orange label to spine and front board. This is the first impression of the first edition of this interesting and unusual Cecil Aldin illustrated book. The 192 pages remain in very presentable condition with no inscriptions and are tightly bound. All hinges are strong and book sits solid and square. Eight excellent colour plates, seven half-tone plates and ninety five black and white drawings support the text throughout. A collection of twenty seven short pieces of writing by various authors including P.G. Wodehouse, Humbert Wolfe, Jack Hobbs and of course, Cecil Aldin himself. Binding a little dusty overall, with one small mark to the spine, otherwise a very good copy indeed. Photographs of the book are available on request. Becoming rather scarce in this condition.. First Edition. Very Good. Illus. by Cecil Aldin.
