Houston and 4 woodblock illustrations by Mark Livingston. First volume in the series: California Writers of the Land. On e of 240 numbered copies (of which 225 were for sale), printed by James Rob ertson at the Yolla Bolly Press, bound by Hans Schuberth; signed by Houston , Livingston and both James and Carolyn Robertson on limitation page. VG- i n half maroon morocco over dark gray cloth, gilt-stamped spine, upper cover stamped blind, brown endpapers, deckled bottom edges. With publisher's mat erial (including prospectus), enclosed in publisher's gray heavy stock card board slipcase. (small bump & gouge to right corner of spine tip; slight bu mp to top right corner of slipcase).4 woodcut illus / plates.
