ca 1950-1960's .Illustrated stapled card covers. 60 printed pages. Cathedral of The Pines Hymn by Rev Harding W Gaylord, Kingston, R.I. printed on inside cover. This booklet opens with a beautiful color photo of the non-denominational outdoor cathedral with a dedication to the Glory of God and given in loving and grateful memory of Sanderson Sloane by his parents Douglas and Sibyl Sanderson Sloane, as a place where all people may come to worship....Many photographs in b/w and others in colour accompany the informative yext. The text begins with its history - The Plan - the purpose, explanation, tributes,etc. A chart of stones in altar gives a story for each stone and donor. The lectern is dedicated in memory of the men in the B-17 Flying Fortress "Peg-O-My-Heart" downed in 1944. One of the stones in the Baptismal Font came from The Port Royal National Historic Park, Lower Granville, Nova Scotia. This is the site of the oldest settlement North of the Gulf of Mexico. The donor was Lt. Col.E.K. Eaton, Nova Scotia. The entire list of donors is listed giving the stones and where they came from with their significance. This booklet is filled with facts and people who shared and visited this remarkable cathedral known world wide.A lovely clean,bright booklet. The condition of it promises to please.. Soft Cover.
