With a 16 page introduction discussing the history of the Hospital, the Medical School, and the Library and its collection. From the introduction: "The idea of an institutional library housed within the Hospital for communal use by students and medical staff appears to have been well- established by the 1740s. The collection was to be accumulated, principally, by way of donations from authors who had some association with the Hospital or School. A presentation copy with a 2-paragraph inscription signed by the author on the front free endpaper, booklabel of Mr & Mrs F.E.A. Yates on front pastedown endpaper with signature of F.E.A. Yates and date, covers slightly scuffed and a little bumped at extremities, otherwise Good.
