Among the highlights noted were the following: a series of Calcutta natural history drawings; Company school paintings; Mughal miniatures of the 16th to 19th century including two leaves from the Tuti nama, c. 1570-80; a leaf from the Victoria and Albert Museum Akbarnama, c. 1595-1600; a fine miniature of King Solomon and his court, c. 1600; four leaves from the Baburnama, c. 1590; two miniatures from the Chester Beatty Akbarnama, c. 1600-10; a leaf from a Shahnama, c. 1620; three leaves from a Shahnama, c. 1610; Deccani, Rajasthani, and Pahari miniatures including a portrait of Bijapur raja, 18th century; an illustration to the Bhagavata Purana, c. 1540-60; Persian and Turkish miniatures of the 15th to 19th century including eleven miniatures from a Shahnama written for Sultan Mirza Ali of Gilan, c. 1480-90; three miniatures from the Majma al-Tavarikh, c. 1425; a leaf from the Khawaran nama, dated 1476-7; two leaves from a Shahnama, c. 1576-77; Persian painted lacquer and calligraphy; Persian, Arabic, Armenian, Ethiopic, Burmese, and Sanskrit manuscripts including Assar's Mihr u Mushtari, Shiraz 1506-7; Sa'di's Gulistan, Herat c. 1460-70; Firdausi's Shahnama, Herat 1497-8; Qur'an manuscripts of the 16th to 19th century; the four gospels in Armenian, Tokat 1679-80.
