About This Item

Storrs-Mansfield, Connecticut: Maurizio Martino Publisher, 1995. BRAND NEW HARDCOVER in perfect condition. STILL SEALED in the publisher's clear plastic SHRINKWRAP. NOT a Print on Demand reprint. Rather, this book is a quality production with sewn pages, not glued, and clear, easily legible printing -- even for old geezers such as myself. NO rubbing. NO fading. Bright, clean, square and tight. NO owner's name or bookplate. NOT a remainder. Pages are fresh and crisp -- obviously never read. No date (but 1995, First Martino printing "Strictly Limited to 150 Copies"). Quality reprint of the 1914 original that was issued in only 300 copies, most of which disappeared into institutional collections. According to Newman & Long's A BASIC CIVIL WAR LIBRARY (Springfield, 1964), "This is one of the most useful Civil War bibliographic tools." For each of 7,500 entries, Nicholson provides full title, publisher, place and date of publication, pagination, format, number of copies printed when known, identification of variant printings, etc. Bound in the original gilt-stamped blue cloth. Besterman 6305.. First Martino printing, Limited to 150. Hardcover. New/in publisher's shrinkwrap. Thick 8vo. 1,022pp. Great Packaging, Fast Shipping.

About About Books

About Books (Genny and Michael Winne, proprietors, formerly of Parsippany, New Jersey) has been selling rare and OP books since 1985. Besides book fairs and mail-order catalogues, long-time collectors and dealers will remember our lengthy For Sale ads in the Antiquarian Bookman and similar magazines. Our inventory of over 40,000 volumes is especially strong in the specialties listed, but contains fine books in a variety of other fields as well. Because most of our books are stored in protective boxes, rather than on shelves, they cannot be viewed as a whole. If you wish to visit us to examine specific titles, please provide 24 hours notice and we will make them available for your inspection. Phone calls to (702) 750-2722 are welcome, but please, only between the hours of 8am and 10pm (west coast time).
