New York: Leon & Brother, 1885. From the Bart Auerbach Collection. Light rubbing to some extremities, else fine. 8vo. Engraved title (as used on the front cover of the original wrappers.) Maroon half morocco gilt, marbled boards, gilt edges. The first catalogue devoted totally to American literary first editions. As it listed all of the known works of the selected authors, it was also the first bibliography of American first editions, published 12 years before P. K. Farley's 'American Authors.' (BA) A run of Poe's works included 'Tamerlane'. Leon & Brother was located under the 5th Avenue Hotel, at 23rd Street.
