About This Item

Philadelphia: Philadelphia: Printed for the Company (Library Company of Philadelphia), 1856. First edition. Hardcover. Fair. 6 X 9 in. high. (xx), pages 985 to 2103 + errata. Condition of the book is FAIR; Both cover and spine covering are missing, but despite that the text block is still bound tightly, endpapers are yellowed, stained and chipped at edges, however text is very clean with no foxing, toning, marking etc., previous owner's name in ink on ffep, Charles Willing 1856. This, of course, is not the Mayor of Philadelphia who lived a century earlier, but is presumably Charles George Willing, who lived in Philadelphia from 1823-1958. Not pretty from the outside, but a very clean, usable copy, or for rebinding. Books on books Rare RGR
