About This Item

Buenos Aires: MNBA, Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, 2008. b/w, duo tone and color plates, ports., facs., bio./chron., cat., bibls., color pict. fldg. wrps. Retrospective on the life production of multifaceted artist Juan Carlos Castagnino (b. Argentina 1908-1972) in celebration of his 100th anniversary of his birth. The exhibition organized by the MNBA, the first for this artist in more than 30 years, included a selection of his paintings, drawings, prints and sketches for his murals. Includes critical texts by Clelia Taricco, exhibition curator and Cecilia Lida on the life and the rich artistic career of who is considered one of the most important exponents of Latin American muralism.
