The Canadian Association in Support of Native Peoples (C.A.S.N.P.), an association of Indigenous and non Indigenous people in support of Indigenous people, was originally established under the name of the Naytional Commission on the Indian Canadian in 1957. By 1968, several more national and provincial Indigenous groups had been organized and in 1972, the name was changed to reflect more accurately, the functions of the organization. The Association was dissolved in 2015. This is an important piece of that history, the focus of which is the "James Bay Issue: progress or disaster? (and the plan to flood Manitoba's North . . .
