About This Item
Boston: Little, Brown and Company, 1964. Light blue hardcover cloth binding is square and tight, bumped corners and rubbed wear along edges. Both hinges repaired with black library tape, binding is secure, back date slip intact and usual library markings. DJ has a couple of tiny holes but displays nicely in clean Brodart jacket. Back flap, which advertises author's first book, The Secret Horse, looks like it had been glued to endpapers and then when someone tried to unstick it, tore part of the flap and the text on it. Front flap just fine. There is some remains of glued paper on endpapers. 194 pages. Reading copy of scarce, popular title. Casey is too big for her pony Top Notch, but her younger sister is afraid of him, so even when the beautiful golden mare Vanity Fair stays in her barn for awhile, Casey knows she cannot have her unless she does something with Top Notch.. Illus. by Holland, Marion and Rebecca. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 1st Stated. Hardcover. Fair/Good.
