About This Item
[Denver, CO], 1891. Albumen cabinet card [11 cm x 18.5 cm] unmounted. Near fine. String contrasts. Nice image of Cascade Avenue in Colorado Springs with Cheyenne Mountain in the background by the famed pioneer western photographer, William Henry Jackson.
William Henry Jackson (1843-1942) was one of the most prolific (and maybe the most famous) of Western artists. During his lengthy career, Jackson photographed and painted numerous views of the West between Nebraska and California, from cliff dwellings to industrial urban centers.
