This proof copy was issued with all page gatherings unbound (each gathering is 32 pages). Original textured red durable wrappers, gilt lettering front cover & spine. The cover is in fine condition as are the contents, but they are unbound. There are no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, no foxing, clean. The cover measures 227mm tall x 188mm. As such, this cover has not been trimmed to fit the text block. The published version has covers that are more than 1cm shorter. This is probably the only extant example of untrimmed covers for this book. The book has 322 + 6 pages, many b/w photos, several maps and route diagrams. PHOTOS ARE OF THE ACTUAL BOOK BEING OFFERED.
