Straight, tight and clean with no wear or markings, previous owner's name to front endpaper. Dustjacket unclipped with original price, slight edge nicks, in new Brodart sleeve. From 1935 until his death, Albert Camus kept a general literary diary which he called his Carnets. This volume, the first of three, includes all the entries made between 1935, when Camus was still completely unknown in Europe, to 1942, when the publication of L'Etranger (The Outsider) made him immediately famous.
