N.Y.: A.L. Burt Company, 1890 Book. Good. Hardcover. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Blue cloth decorated in black w/gold gilt on spine. Rubbed boards and edges, bumped corners as shown. 2 front pages are loosened attachment to lower front joint. Previous owner's name. A tale that was written over 130 years ago! Seventeen-year-old Bob is despondent about not being able to afford a new gun to take on a local hunting trip. Then his cousin discloses that his father might take them on a trip to Africa. This story is only one of dozens put forth by this author who lived from 1848-1912. The author is credited with many early adventure stories. It is even suggested that this book might have inspired Edgar Rice Burroughs to write the Tarzan books. This tale is over 130 years old.
