[Boston?]: Page and Shaw, 1923. Ninth edition [first edition?]. Staplebound. Near fine. 16mo, 40pp., illustrated. A near fine pamphlet in the publisher's decorative printed stapled wraps. Spine fragile and a tinge worn, but a clean, unmarked copy. Quite scarce promotional and historical pamphlet which details the history of the Page and Shaw candy manufacturer-retailer. Founded in Boston in the 1880s, by the time this pamphlet was published four decades later, it had a multinational presence. This volume is packed with illustrations from photographs of Page and Shaw's various locations, factories, etc. OCLC does not note any separately listed holdings of this pamphlet. We tried a broader search, noting that this is the stated "ninth edition," but could not locate any similarly-titled items. This may have been a kind of stunt to lend some authority to the publication, but it's just as conceivable that the earlier editions do indeed exist and are similarly rare. In any event, a wonderfully visual record of this candy-maker's operation, in admirably nice condition.
