About This Item

London: Gerald Duckworth & Co Ltd. Very Good+ in Very Good dust jacket. 1991. First Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. 0715623842 . Black cloth-covered boards with bright silver-gilt titling and publisher's 'duck' logo to the spine. Slight 'bumping' to the head/tail of the spine due to storage only, but NO damage just a slight 'push' each end. In the original publisher's pictorial dust-jacket, overall a Very Good dust-jacket but with one tiny 'closed' nick to the top rear of the d/j spine, now neatly repaired to the reverse of the d/j with clear archive tape. The d/j is now in a new protective clear - removable - bookfilm plastic cover and looks VG Plus. Some very pale spotting (very Iight foxing) to the page fore-edges - hardly noticable. Internally plain endpapers and NO inscriptions or major marks, apart from the AUTHOR's Dedication Note and SIGNATURE in black biro onto the Title page = "To Sue with best wishes Phil Rickman". "For Bethan, a schoolteacher, the old superstitions woven into the social fabric of her West Wales village are primitive and distasteful, which is why she's pleased to welcome the sophisticated newcomers - Journalist Giles Freeman and his wife Claire - who are thrilled when they inherit a cottage far from the noise of the city. And though the rest of the locals are slow to welcome them, the Freemans believe that in time they will be accepted. But the Freemans have fallen under an ancient Celtic curse - and soon they will learn the truth about what it means to be outsiders..." . The Author's Stand-alone First Book/Debut Novel. See Images; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; Signed by Author .
