Toronto: John Lovell, 1856. Book. Near Fine. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Original decorative gilt and blind-stamped grey cloth hard covers. Moderate rubbing and toning/discoloration to covers, with extremities just slightly frayed. Top edge soiled. Corner of one leaf lost, margin only, and not affecting anything; minor misfolding to geological map. Otherwise, clean, tight and unmarked. Very neat -- a sound and handsome copy. The three supplementary title-pages carry Paris printers' imprints with the 1855 date. Illustrated with five plates, including one fold-out map of Canada for the geological section. 463pp..
