First trade edition of Camping & Tramping With Roosevelt by John Burroughs, in scarce dust jacket.. Octavo, xiv, 110pp, [4]. Olive cloth, title printed on spine and cover. Publication statement on copyright page, stating "Published October, 1907." Offsetting to endpapers where dust jacket laid down. Complete with frontispiece portrait of Roosevelt in Yosemite and 11 full page photographs. In publisher's scarce brown paper dust jacket, reinforced on verso, archival tape repair to verso, along edges of spine. An attractive example. The author of this work, John Burroughs, accompanied President Roosevelt to Yosemite National Park in 1903. Theodore Roosevelt served as the 26th President of the United States. He was a prolific author, writing more than 18 books during his lifetime, beginning with "The Naval War of 1812" in 1882. His other notable works include The Winning of the West, African Game Trails, and The Rough Riders.
