About This Item
Division of State Parks, South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism. The Department was created by the SC General Assembly in 1967; although there is no date given, due to some of the songs included, we would date this booklet c. 1972. Stiff copper pictorial stapled wrappers, with Department logo on rear cover. 44 pp., printed on rectos only (pages 4 and 5 in wrong order). 66 song lyrics, intriguing in their representation of popular hits (Me and Bobby McGee or Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head), traditional campfire songs (Home on the Range or On Top of Old Smokey), and chapel songs (Joshua Fought the Battle of Jericho or My Faith Looks Up to Thee). An intriguing collection, not found in commerce, auction records, or OCLC.
