Description:
Hutchinson, London [no date, c.1945]. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. First Edition (first printing). Small 4to. 159pp. Beige cloth lettered in red at the spine and upper board. Lavishly illustrated throughout with over 120 black and white photographs. Just a touch of spotting to the rear board, and a little more to the edges, endpapers and half-title. Slight wave to the paperstock. A very good copy in the most uncommon colour dust wrapper, magnificently designed by Stein, non-price-clipped but a little rubbed and a little nicked at several extremities, with a little chafing to the natural folds, and several small areas of internal taped repair. An account of the war efforts of the workers at Morris Motors Ltd., who switched from building cars to armaments and military vehicles. Warwick Library holds a copy inscribed to H.A.Ryder, managing director of MG and dated 7 Dec 1945, thus probably establishing the publication year..
