Appears unread, classic iconic "Dell Keyhole" logo endpapers, original aqua color A.E.S. (All Edges Stained) pages, rubbing to spine edges, trivial water staining, scuffs near upper edge of last few pages, creases to covers mostly near spine, micro-chips to extremities, pages are clean, bright, unmarked and binding tight. A collection of five of the author's hard-boiled pulp detective fiction, only three short stories published during the author's lifetime featuring protagonist Sam Spade first published in the pulp magazine The American Magazine in 1932 with introduction by Ellery Queen. Cover art by Robert Stanley and mapback by Ruth Belew. Uncommon vintage paperback original Dell Mapback from a major author, collectible. 192 pgs. 16mo.
